Biografia: Guns 'n' Roses

Grupo constituido em 1985, em Los Angeles, por Axl Rose, Tracii Guns, Izzy Stradlin, Ole Beich e Rob Gardner, e que conheceu o maior sucesso da sua carreira no início dos anos 90, quando composta por Axl Rose (vocalista), Slash (guitarra), Izzy Stradlin (guitarra), Dizzy Reed (teclas, chegado em 1990), Duff McKagan (baixo), Steven Adler e mais tarde Matt Sorum (bateria)...
Entre os seus maiores sucessos estão verdadeiros hinos Rock, como November Rain, Welcome to the Jungle e Sweet Child O'Mine, e o cover da musica de Bob Dylan, Knockin' On Heaven's Door... Lançaram 4 albuns de estúdio, 1 album duplo gravado ao vivo e 2 Greatest Hits...

Depois de várias actuações polémicas e violentas, onde o temperamento e as bocas de Axl deixaram uma má impressão junto dos próprios fãs, a banda separou-se em finais dos anos 90... No novo milénio, Axl voltou com uma nova formação da banda (com um tipo chamado Buckethead a substituir o grande Slash), mas tem lutado para recuperar o respeito que foi desaparecendo ao longo dos anos... Os verdadeiros Foo Fighters.....

Um "Foo Fighter" é nada mais nada menos que um fenómeno estranho que surge no espaço aéreo... O termo tem a sua origem na denominação que os pilotos dos Aliados, na Segunda Guerra Mundial atribuiam aos Objectos Voadores Não Identificados nos céus da Europa...

Supõe-se que o termo tenha sido utilizado, em primeiro lugar, para denominar os pilotos dos caças Japoneses, conhecidos por voarem de forma perigosa e desordenada... Mas acabou por tornar-se comum para todos os fenómenos encontrados a voar rapida e indistintamente, muitas vezes perseguindo os próprios aviões...
Não existem relatos de Foo Fighters que tenham atacado ou sequer contactado com as aeronaves Americanas, Britânicas, Alemãs ou Japonesas, apenas há relatos de bolas de fogo avistadas pelos pilotos, e que passavam por eles a alta velocidade... Há muitas teorias - aviões furtivos, tiros de canhões, etc. - sobre o fenómeno, mas este nunca foi, definitivamente, explicado...

Será que "eles" andam mesmo por aí.....?

... No album The Color and the Shape, Dave Grohl acabou por tocar a bateria na maior parte das músicas..? Apesar de ser o guitarrista dos Foo Fighters e o vocalista, acabou por repetir as funções que tinha nos Nirvana...

Formados em 1995 e ainda no activo (quantas bandas formadas na altura podem dizer o mesmo?), os Foo Fighters são os felizes possuidores de três Grammys de Melhor Album de Rock, nos anos 2001, 2004 e 2008...

Em 2001, There is Nothing Left to Lose foi o terceiro album da banda de Dave Grohl... Com o tema Learn to Fly, os Foo Fighters atingiam pela primeira vez os tops de todo o mundo e incluiam a música na História das melhores do Rock moderno... Os Foo Fighters gravaram todo o album em casa de Grohl...

One by One é um album de 2004... Entre os seus temas encontra-se Times Like This... Ao saber que a campanha presidencial de George W. Bush estava a usar o tema, Grohl e amigos decidiram apoiar John Kerry...

Born from the Dead God

Quem diz que os Nirvana ao morrerem junto com Kurt Kobain, foi uma das maiores perdas para as gerações da década de 90 que viveram a ouvir "Smells Like Teen Spirit" ou "In Bleech" não pensa no que geraram, dela nasceu uma das bandas do momento, vencedora de vários Grammys de melhor álbum... a banda de Dave Grohl, antigo baterista dos inventores do estilo Grundge... foi fundada em 1995, um ano após a inesperada morte de Kobain, que desta maneira deixaram Grohl liberto dos colegas da antiga banda, e podendo assim lançar algumas musicas que havia escrito durante a sua estadia nos Nirvana... desde esse ano os Foo Fighters lançaram 5 álbuns, onde 3 deles foram os tão desejados vencedores do prémio dos prémios da música... Têm grandes exitos como "DOA", "Best of You" e o novo "The Pretender" que causão uma fantástica onda de energia, que mesmo não sendo do género dos seus predecessores, acaba por ter um bocadinho do espírito da "falecida" banda... assim a banda que não se quer auto-intitular uma "reencarnação" dos Nirvana conseguiu em pouco mais de uma década chegar a um patamar altissimo, e talvez um dia cheguem perto do que foram os representantes das gerações da década de 90...
